FANTASIES

Fantasies is an educative coffee table picture book that focuses on the impact homophobia has had throughout history. It is almost four years of research compile into a book to enlighten readers, in a chronological timeline, that seek to understand more the knowledge they lack about the consequences the laws implemented on the 2LGBTQ+ people as had on them in our history. The photographs I took for this project, that accompany the research and text, are to showcase the beauty and sensuality that can be seen between people of the community. It is to denounce and demystify the stereotypes that have been implemented and to dismantle this agenda that has smeared our named. And those pictures are my own vision depicting a world without prejudice and without labels, in which I show the absurdity and hypocrisy of those old conventional convictions and conservative mindsets. This is a message for the world to, not only listen, but to have the will to learn beyond their misinformation and their uncertainties which can be scary. This is certainly not an intervention to inflict my opinion on anyone but to speak openly for those willing to lend an ear. And with this project, I hope to bring it as far as I can to bring awareness where needed and to be able to give a voice for those in some places where their voices are being silenced, living in fear of being truly themselves due to persecution against anyone who dares raise their voices and speak their minds.
